Whales are musicians, too! Recorded by Paul Knapp, Jr.

Humpback whales sing their own special kind of music. Paul Knapp, Jr recorded these unique and mysterious whale songs in the Caribbean. The compelling view from orbit shows the beauty of the Florida coast, the Caribbean Sea, surrounding lands and islands, and the wistful clouds – the natural environment of these marvelous whales.

Paul Knapp, Jr has spent many years sailing the Caribbean, with advanced under-water recording equipment on his boat. He lowers the microphone and listens as he records. Some wonder if the whale songs communicate with other whales, conveying information about where they might find krill or other food. Or perhaps it is just part of how whales explore the oceans of the world.
