Moonset with Venus

Bach · Ich ruf zu dir (639)

Sliver of moon sets to a colorful horizon of deep red and blue.

Astronauts see 16 Moonsets every day. In this real-speed movie, the moon sets in a serene path, fading into the clouds of dusk. We also see the planet Venus as a small bright light left of the moon.

Brian Hoffman, organist, plays Bach’s evocative and mysterious “Ich ruf zu dir” (I call to you). Brian plays this lovely piece on a virtual organ system called Hauptwerk, that can replicate many different organs – here the Laurenskerk organ in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Brian is a prolific organist, on a ten-year path to record all of Bach’s organworks.
