SpaceX Dragon Dreams – a magical dream-like ride over Earth at night, with soaring music

Here we are on the ISS, looking out at a SpaceX Dragon at night. In the background, mysterious views of Earth lights, lightning and Moon rise.

Astronaut Don Pettit took these dream-like time-lapse photos – each 30 second exposure capturing city lights and clouds below, creating these fantastical images. And then a glorious Sun rise.

The music is Bach’s Et Misericordia (“and mercy”), in a stunning performance by Solomon’s Knot, a British ensemble – recorded live at BachFest in Leipzig, June 2016. The musical joy and reverence match the view of Earth.
