Earth Snow and Ice

Astronauts monitor Earth’s snow and ice, with stunning photos. Snow covered mountains, ice frozen blue, snow covered fields, retreating glaciers. Each photo tells a story.

The music wonderfully aligns. Stardust Sinfonie, a German trio of flute, harpsichord and vibraphone, plays their interpretation of the andante movement of Bach’s Italian Concerto (BWV 971).

All photos taken Dec 2023, by astronauts of ISS Expedition 70. They use hand-held Nikon Z9 cameras, observing Earth, selecting views and capturing them to share with us all. Expert photographers capturing this “cold” story of Earth, and the impact of global warming.
